I would have to agree with that. LiteHedded and I had some good dives there on Saturday. Thanks to those who suggested that it was a beautiful cavern, it really is.

It in near the head waters of the Ichetucknee river. You park in their parking lot, and walk. You better hurry, it closes for the summer on March 31.

it's only open till the end of the month
I would recommend using a cart to haul gear to the spring.

    Splendid! Thanks!

We're going down the last full week of March and yes, we have a dolly.

If you dive jug hole, dive it around noon or a little later so you get the full effect. It's shaped like a milk jug, so light pierces through the opening, and creates a rainbow effect on the bottom of the cavern. BEAUTIFUL, perhaps one of the best dives for a cavern only diver in the area!

Also, reports off this site are saying Jug Hole is great right now, but will close off to divers at the end of this month.

There are some reports on Blue Springs(Orange City) either here, or on one of the other dive forums. The reports were somewhat favorable, but dunno how much cave is involved.
Unfortately, my schedule doesn't allow me to go far from home right now. I'll have to stick locally for my diving. I might just check out Black Spring again. The visibility can't be worse than it was last time!

Blue Springs (OC) doesn't have much cave...or if it does, getting through the flow at the restriction prevents anyone from getting to it...

This thread has taken a quite humorous turn....you can sure tell the springs are blown and cavers need something else to focus on other than their deco plans!

Thanks for the scoop on Jug. My buddy and I are going down in a few weeks and we have a couple of new cavern divers going with us. It's nice to know we can show them something that's open while we do a cave dive at Ginnie, Ginnie or maybe Ginnie.

We do plan to leave earlier than originally planned to head back home and plan to hit Jackson Blue, while the cavern divers head south to West Palm. We've not been to JB before. What is the procedure? I'm aware I have to go to the sherriff's office to pick up a key....is there anything else?

Are cavern divers allowed to do the cavern at JB if they decided to pass on WP?
