Your right, there was only about six inches of the handrail sticking out above the water.

Took a look at Ruth today. Parking area is dry, only one step on the stairs is wet. Basin is clear with no movement in the run. The bottom looks nasty...

Depends on how brave/crazy your are. It goes easy sidemount for several hundred feet to another entrance. Then several hundred feet to the end of the line. It is pretty tight, and has filled in with sand.

last time I was there I noticed a jump off to the left when heading in that was within the first 50-100 ft of the entrance. any idea where that might lead to. I told myself I would check it out on my next dive there, but havent been able to make that next dive yet

It is nothing, the deadend in a low silty hole. i wonder why this is even marked as jump.

handrail? steps? stairs? At Ruth? I've been there a few times, but never ever have seen stairs or handrail. Can there be more than one Ruth Spring? Maybe someone has put in stairs since I was last there, but I can not imagine why, the pool is small and easliy just stepped into from ground (and shallow where you step in).

The Ruth Spring I know was recently surveyed by Jackie and Joel and Cory. Map is available from NACD, and probably from Rich at Cave Ex. East. is that the same one y'all are talking about or is there another one or did "they" put in stairs???

    enlighten me please.
    thanks,

It is probably the same place. The steps don't go into the water, just help you down the bank.
