I will be down in Mid April do you thing you guys can start pumping the river out for me to clear everything up....lol kidding.....I know from last fall and spring you needed the water down there for a recharge....

But I guess I Might be stuck up here in Canada with the snow instead.....

I doubt it will be clear for several months. Yes, we did need water, but not dirty river water

Wow. Thanks so much for the pictures and videos. What a change from early February. Here's hoping that it's diveable by mid-May which is the next time that I can get away from work for some much needed diving.

Drove in from Texas last week and we decided to wade over the road to LR on 3/21 to see the conditions first hand. The whirlpool is now gone and the level is higher than reported earlier. You can see where it's receded a foot or so overall, but compare the attached picture to post #11.

The water level covers the first turn of the wooden steps and the top of the brick wall is about 6 inches under water (bottom of post #11 picture). I took a low grade video with my phone, but couldn't attach it.

Regardless, it's under water for a while!

That is a good river height, you swim down to the cave from the deck, usually the cave will clear and the river will still have tannic water on the surface, really nice to see when the sun is shining. There are alligators seen frequently while divers are in deco when the tannic water is on the surface.

Yea, but it won't be clear enough to dive for weeks. I know, been there, done that

Also, it pumps pretty hard as the river drops!

Still, it's good to see the aquifer being recharged like this - way overdue.

Well, in that *water* went into the aquifer, maybe. It is much better for nice, clean, rain water, filtered through sand, to go into the aquifer, rather than polluted river water
