I live across the river and slightly upstream from that park. It does have a bad
reputation for illegal activity which includes vandalism and theft. Just look at all the busted
up solid concrete picnic tables. I never use that ramp to launch unless I plan on to bring the tow vehicle and trailer home. Instead I recommend the boat ramp at Hollingsworth Bluff which is just down river from the 47 bridge. Access is the paved road to the LEFT as you head north from the 47 bridge.,,,less than 1/2 mile away.

No kidding... we have property in that area too, right near the bridge. We wondered what was up with the tables. The Hollingsworth Bluff boat ramp is much better anyway. There's often FWC boats there too.

If you wade out in the water a little you can see my dock up river just around the bend.
Look for me sitting there using a bench rest for my SKS with scope.

Next time I come up, I can bring my .50 cal. It really gets the point across. Plus you can effectively take out the getaway vehicle if you want

So I want to know if anyone has come up from a dive and interupted any of these less than desirables commiting any of thier dirty deeds. All you're going to do is scare them off if you're lucky. they know you have nothing on you to defend yourself (unless you pack Gaston Glock in your drysuit pocket) and then you are standing there with God only how much in $$$ on your body.
