    Default Memorial Marker @ Ginnie

Well, when diving at Ginnie yesterday, I saw a glint of metal off the line behind a rock. It was a Memorial Marker for Fransisco F. Dated 2007. I won't give the location so that this one does not dissapear, only that it was two jumps off the main line. Does anyone know the information or profile of this person...Thanks Ken...

It was in the vacinity of the 3' long eel we saw sitting on the goldline. Would have been a good dive to have a camera!

I spotted it also, a couple months back. Thanks for posting that link about his life. I had been wondering. While asking questions I heard that the plaque started out in Ginnie Ball Room. Then was moved to that spot. Like you I am not going to speak of the location. As I am still upset about Kevin Book's plaque missing from the Ice Room.

    Cheers!!

this might be a stupid question, but it doesn't seem like this person died in ginnie, so why is there a memorial of him in the cave?

Every time in my life when I thought that people can't be THAT stupid, I was in for a big surprise.

I suppose because his family felt that is where he was happiest and would want to rest.

Chris and Chrissy didn't die there, either...

If you go to the link that Ken included. it mentions him diving in the High Springs area and says:

"We had his ashes spread on one of those caves, and a bronze plaque will soon follow".

It would make sense to have a memorial room. As far as ashes are concerned, drop me in its entirety into the devils system (somewhere in the back) so I can be silt for the generations to come. Maybe even silt up my old buddies every now and then.
