I started diving in a transpac and scuba pro regs. How this happened was: I went to Steve Forman who was then manager at Scuba Etc. and I told him I wanted gear that would keep me alive and last at least 10 years. I open water dived in that set up, did cavern through full cave in that gear and a couple of hundred cave dives but when I started side mount diving I didn't want to mess up my back mount set up and did a stab jacket and a Rennaker butt plate. That lasted until I got stuck a couple of times and I converted my Trans pac to my side mount rig with a few modifications. I dive that rig for the most part. I also dive a backplate and harness, a harness with only a dry suit for inflation, it depends on the cave and if I am diving in Mexico or a sump. For the most lift in deep water or when I carry several stages I go back to the TranPac. I am using the same gear after 10 years and I'm not dead so Steve did good by me. Cindy Butler
