Default Newly certified though NACD -- need gear

I am a Master Scuba Diver newly certified by the NACD as a cavern diver wanting to continue my education but I am needing to upgrade my gear. I have a very nice O/W rig but want to keep one for O/W and one for caves. I am looking for used but good gear. I need

    SS Backplate
    Wings
    Basic Harness
Steel Doubles current Hydro and O2 Clean
    Reg w/ 84" hose w/ Octo
    Mult Gas Computer

I am not wanting off name brands but somethings proven and reliable. I plan on getting everything overhauled before getting wet. Any suggestions welcome.

I have everything you need. All Diverite. Give me a call at the shop or PM me for details. I can save you a TON of cash! 863-471-DIVE(3483)

It's all Beth's and my personal gear. So it's been really well maintained and taken care of

Also, nothing needs to be overhauled. It's all current and ready to go.

Rebreathers = Much less gear needed now

I don't know anybody that uses a steel backplate in Florida, except people that need LOTS of weight. That's the polite way of saying really fat people.

Almost everybody I know uses aluminum.

Agree with above, unless you are going to saltwater caves, should consider Aluminum backplate.

    Default one backplate?

I dove a ss backplate for awhile, but found that it took too much air in bc (more drag), switched to aluminum and am much happier, better air consumption.

I do use the ss backplate when diving with my little doubled 72's (exploration of potential sites) and when diving single 130's in salt water (and for travel too - single al80's on charter boats).

Fine...I did say I was new to cave diving. Chalk it up to inexperience in a new type of diving. I have only dived oceans since '95 until three months ago.

    Aluminum it is.
