It comes with the old trailer plug and also a set of clips that connect with a trailer plug. I charge the batteries and take them off. If I don't use them for awhile, I top them before use. It is probably best, as FW says, to give them a shot every week or so.

I'm using the wreck cannister with duel Dive Rite batteries. I've had them since 2004 and they get used 3-4 times a week. No problems yet though. However, what would it take to change over to NMHI in the same cannister? Ken

I took mine to Batteries Plus, and they put NiCd cells in it. That was a few years ago, so I suspect they could go NiMH now. DiveRite can do it as well.

Im sure you could order a bunch of D sized 10000 mAh NiMH batteries from batteryspace and the put them in series and parallel until they fill up the canister, that way you could really customize it to get the burn tim you wanted and maximize the space in the canister.
