Change is SOON UPON US.... The Forum is Moving Again!

We are close to moving to a new server and to updated, upgraded and better software (VBulletin). Its also more complex, more features and more complicated for us to operate... but we are getting there. Tommy Burchfield, an experienced VBulletin administrator, and I have done a test copy/run and its works great with the exception that we can't move over the permissions to all the Private Forums... We have a few folks working on coming up with a solution, like our webmaster Marbry, but in a few days, around midnight EST, we'll copy the database from this site and move to the new and point the site there. Worst case, we'll ask everyone to contact the responsible moderator for any private forums they were involved with...

We will be carrying over the gigabytes of pictures & video clips, and will include links to most of the old html pages (like the resources pages).

This is just a HEADS UP to the change!

New site looks great, good work TJ. It would be nice to have the buttons (especially "New Posts" linked to the bottom of each page as well as the top (makes navigating a bit easier, as opposed to having to scroll back to the top each time, and an easy fix to boot.)

The only minor thing I saw was that my mail box was full, the in-box. There were PM's in there that are ooooold.

We'll figure something out after it gets over. There are many options I'm not well versed in their use or maintenance.... yet...

I noticed that as well, PM Box is 100% Full...still appeared even after going in and deleting quite a few old PM's.

The default mailbox size is just far less than we have now. It will be updated on the final move.

Many things are settings in the database that just have to be set once we move over the database from old to new, for the last and final time. Any change we make now will just get overwritten.

I think it might have been the way you guys backed it up? Just a WAG because the PM's I had in my in box were deleted by me, some a very long time ago.

No big deal though. We can all individualy reorganize our mailboxes after the change over, if that even becomes necessary...I'm sure you guys have your hands full with things other than mailboxes.
