    Not following ya....
It was a rather mean allusion to Florida's lynchings. Apparently the last one was in the 40's though, Meng, so civilisation has existed for a little longer in Fl than you thought!

Yes it is, and you are quick, up to scratch and seem to catch them well.

But this last one was more sarcasm and venom.

Let's drop it. I think our point was made. As Crawford said, time for a group hug!

Let me say that I sincerely apologize if I have insulted anyone or caused any bad feelings by my comments. At first I was a bit defensive, but when I saw that several people took offense, it hit me what was happening.

I grew up in a mixed racial community (where I was actually a minority) and now my closest circle of friends are of mixed race and culture as well. They are predominantly African American and Hispanic, and being we are a small church group I consider them more family than friends, our children play together, we meet in my home, etc. so I did think the reaction was off base (as it was directed toward me). I thought that my comments about the relation of the foreign language to the possibility of it being someone of foreign origin (with a couple specific examples) was analytical and wouldn't cause offense. I thought wrong.

I'm probably guilty of being very matter of fact about race, as it is not a sensitive subject among my friends and family, but I forget that others don't live in that environment.

Let me say that it horrifies me that I've caused bad feelings, anger, or even stirred up hostile feelings in anyone. On the other side of the country and I think even in a foreign country. There was an insulting response directed at me that has been deleted and hopefully most of you didn't read. I contacted that person and we agreed to meet and shake hands over the holidays. I"ve asked the moderators to delete my comments. Again, I sincerely apologize for any bad feeling I"ve caused. Feel free to PM me anytime if anyone would like to talk further.

    Default no need to apologize

I for one was not insulted and did not take offense, or see anything offensive. But then I know crawford personally and yes he is a bit on the milque-toast side. so if you took offense, rest assured it was totally unintentional.

I wouldn't worry about it Crawford. Some people are just uppity and have anger management issues............as some of my posts will attest

Maybe you should privately send that information to Kelly Jessop who is handling this matter rather than posting it on CDF for everyone to see and make assumptions?

I sent Mike E. a PM asking him to do this exact thing...I hope he does.

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

BTW Mike, next time, give me a chance to copy and paste my message before you blow it out. I'm getting older, and my memory's not what it used to be
