    Default Ginnie Fatality

Just noticed a thread elsewhere that someone died yesterday 800 feet in at devils. A sad day...Bill

    Link?

If cave diving were Star Wars, who would be Yoda?

My thoughts and prayers go to Jeff and his family, and also to everyone of us in the caves.

I just got back from Cave Country. Me and my buddies met at Ginnie on Thursday and were suiting up to go in. When this diver coming out of the water looked at me kinda funny and didn't respond to my "hey how's it going" greeting I figured he might not speak english as there were Europeans and Brazilians in the area. After a few seconds he told me he just had to leave his buddy tied to the main line. It took a second for me to get what he was saying but my heart kinda sank into my stomach when it did.
One of the other guys from the group "John" and I ran up to the Ginnie store and alerted Corby and Rose.
Since we didn't feel like there was anything else we could do we left after the emergency personel arrived.

My sincerest condolences to Wayne, John, the rest of your dive group and affected family members. I'm sorry your trip turned out the way it did.
