    Default help needed

    Hello cave divers,

I´m a German scuba diver and I write a book ( in german ) about the best dive spots in Florida.

I hope you agree that some of the best dive spots are in the overhead environment.

Ginnie Springs, Peacock I & III, Orange Grove, Little River and Madison Blue are the caves I already saw.

From Oct.27th to Nov.4th I´ll be in cave country again to do some more dives.

-The first days we stay at Cathy´s Dive Outpost and then we go north.

Telford, Vortex and Jackson Blue are on my list, but I´m still looking for some other interesting caves.
There should be some photogenic points inside of the cave and if possible outside too.

    What is your recommendation?

    Please take into account that

    -I´m not Trimix certified
-my photo equipment is a little bulky
    -I have no scooter
    -I´m not Sheck Exley

    curiously waiting

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Telford is CLOSED until further notice, please do not trespass there, as the cave community is working on an agreement with the landowner(s) and a tresspassing diver would ruin it for all of us.

May I recomment Hole in the wall instead.

    Mike,

thank you, I didn´t know about Telford being closed but I surely won´t go there knowing this now.

But this is one more reason that I need your recommendations!

Mentioning Jackson Blue I didn´t forget Hole in the Wall and Twin Caves because they all are close together at Merrit´s Mill Pond.

Access is allowed at Telford via the boat ramp. I would also recommend Twin Caves, Cathedral, and Edwards.

    Tom,

You are getting some interesting advice here, but for a book intended for German cave divers, you probablsy should stick to caves that have public access. Some day, Telford might have public access, but for now Mike is right, access is difficult. Cow and Cathedral require NSS-CDS membership. Edwards is on private property, and I have heard that *nobody* actually has permission to access the cave. Buford is only a cavern, and is in a swamp, requiring a long hike to the water.

You should definatly check out the caves on the Mill Pond. Another nice public site is Manatee.

You could join the CDS and get access to Cow and Cathedral, its a simple matter to get permission to do photos there for publication. If you share an article with the UWS I will show you a couple off the beaten path you will enjoy. Email me or call I can help. Cindy Butler cindyb3007@yahoo.com or 386-454-8378

Eagles Nest ; cool photos can be taken above 150' (to the right of the up-stream line @ 140' very large rock formations bearly hanging form the roof) & ( to the left of down stream @ 150' tie a primary line & look for the 30' that sticks strait up)

Happiness is living close to the Nest & having your weekend house next to Cow Springs!!

thanks to all of you who answered.

    @FW & @Cindy

I think FW is right, for the Germans who read the book and ( hopefully ) come to cave country for the first time, the caves with public access are best.
Furthermore there should be enough to see for more than one visit in these caves.
Nevertheless I wanted to add something not so popular to make it more interesting.

Cindy, I thought about joining the NSS CDS anyway and sharing an article is no problem at all.
Thanks for your offer, it would be great if you could show us something and we could dive together.
I intended to contact you anyway, concerning the "Oldtimer Stories"

    @ ajimmythekid

I guess you´re right, Dustin Clesi told me about it and promised to take me there when I´m ready for it, but I´m not yet.
But what you answered is exactly what I am looking for:
Information where to look in a special cave and if it´s worth going there.
The same with FW´s information about Buford.

Thanks again and maybe there is more you can tell me.
