Default rebreather in a new cave

Would you take a rebreather to a cave you never dove on open circuit? If so, how would you know your turn time?
And, before you ask...no, I haven't moved on to a rebreather yet. Just asking.

It is actually done a lot. At least in parts of a cave that nobody has dived before. I understand your concern about gas planning. An experienced RB diver knows how many minutes he/she can dive on the available bailout gas, and turns accordingly.

The posts about building your own rebreather have been moved to a new forum, dedicated to Do-It-Yourselfers. It is near the bottom of the Index page.

If you want access to that forum, PM me.

I already gave access to those who expressed an interest.
