    Geeze Walter, you remind me of my niece. She found out one of her video games had a word filter, so she spent a whole evening putting in every four letter word she knew, just to see which ones got trapped.

    The whole idea of that particular filter is to *prevent* flame wars, not start them. GI is gone, the word is dropping from the vernacular, let's not go out of our way to get around the filter, and cause trouble.
    I was just impressed.

    FWIW, I think the poseidons would be a good choice for sidemount, there are a lot of guys out there using them, and swearing by them, but the one thing I have found out about sidemount, nothing is set in stone. Hose lengths, hose routing, wing size/design, etc. When its all said and done, go with what works for you, not what works for someone else.

    What?

    Please explain the logic underlying that conclusion.
    Just that it seems everyone and their mother is sidemounting with them because you can wear them right or left.

    RH, Maybe it's just me but you kinda sound a little condescending in your comment. I think the post was directed to the OP that way because they are both in WI and might have the opportunity to meet. I don't think he was saying those people are the Authority on Sidemount diving. If I misconstrued I appoligize in advance.

    yea kids, everyone play nice. I've been tinkering with a sidemount rig for a while now, and have yet to get my regs (Salvo), just how I want them. Hence, this thread. A couple things I have realized;

    1. Using drygloves with sidemount tanks require LARGE clips.
    2. Trying out a sidemount setup on a boat for the first time should be done on a calm day. Not during 3ft swells.

    Gotta love trial and error.

    Wow.

    God bless the internet

    Anyway, yes the reason I posted that is because I'm local to him. In addition, I believe (if systematic is the guy I'm thinking of, I'm not good with screen names) he has dove with our group up here. Most of us are sidemounters and we do a lot of cave diving up here so there is a solid group of people up here to help out.

    It is true. I am the guy you're thinking about. I've dove with Tami, Keith, Ethan, and "the group" before. And I do plan on taking a sidemount course. I'm just holding off for a little while, not like I'm gonna go into a cave with the thing. Just a wreck or two.
