    Default Sidemount regulators, Poseidons?

    Ok, I know this has been beaten to death. But for some reason, I'm having a little trouble getting this answered. It seems that Poseidons are the reg of choice for sidemounting. But, what is the deal with those hose fittings? All the pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like Poseidon uses a stanard connection on the second stage end. Are varies lengths of hoses available with this? Is there an adapter? Any insight would be helpful.

    Poseidon does make several hose lengths. The standard length works well for sidemount. Yes, the hoses are different from American regulators.

    FWIW, I have used Poseidon regulators with sidemount (and backmount) since the mid 70s, and never had any problems with them, or the hoses.

    What?

    Please explain the logic underlying that conclusion.

    Default Maybe

    Maybe he watched the video of Woody doing the Otter rescue..

    I guess because poseidons can come from the left or the right they make sense.

    I was going to call myself a s_t_r_o_k_e in my previous post but it got translated to stroke. Therefore, I feel compelled to explain what I determined.

    Cleaver...If you use the word s_t_r_o_k_e in a post it comes out as "GI". If you use s.t.r.o.k.e with spaces it gets translated to "cerebral blockage"

    s_t_r_o_k_e = stroke
    s.t.r.o.k.e = s t r o k e

    _ = no spaces
    . = space

    Nice work TJ. What else is in that config file?

    Geeze Walter, you remind me of my niece. She found out one of her video games had a word filter, so she spent a whole evening putting in every four letter word she knew, just to see which ones got trapped.

    The whole idea of that particular filter is to *prevent* flame wars, not start them. GI is gone, the word is dropping from the vernacular, let's not go out of our way to get around the filter, and cause trouble.

    You don't need to use Poseidons, you can use any old regs you want. I'm just a big fan of my Poseidons. The fact that they are breathable from any direction is kinda nice.

    Hoses are the only downside - they can be pricey little buggers. I've really thought about getting some of those adapters/swivels on mine hoses but we'll have to see.

    I like a little longer than standard hose on my sidemount regs so that I can wrap the house around my neck and into my mouth, kinda like how you do with a deco bottle. Keeps things nice and neat the way I've got everything set up.

    Come talk to Tami, Ethan Keith and I and we'll help you out with any sidemount question you have

    Although, I think out of the bunch (my friend George too...) the only one of us not using Poseidons is Ethan.

    Everyone spends the first nine months of life in water. The lucky ones make frequent return visits.
