    Congrats Caveranger!

I believe some of the best instructors are those that make you feel completely inept while you curse them under your breath! And yep, they sure can scream into their regs. And find your every weak spot and pour salt in your wounds!

But let the sh^t hit the fan one time...when you feel that training kick in, you do what needs to be done, and you come out alive...it's all worth it. After that first experience, I sure appreciated all the butt-chewing I'd gotten!

    Safe diving!

My name is Shirley Kasser Creech and I approve this message. Well, at least one of me does, anyway. Maybe. Fire. Sharp things. Squirrel!

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.

    Congratulations!

It's good to be humbled every now and then. It keeps you sharp, and one thing you never want to do, is get sloppy with rules and procedures in cave diving.

On any dive, I never want my last words to be, "O-H-H-H S-H-----T!!!!"

We didn't "ban" it, just modified it a little. But you are right, you can mention names, if it doesn't lead to a flame war

Good job! Ralph is a great instructor. If you passed with him (and in fact with the vast majoty of cve insructors) , you EARNED it!

That Manatee headspring is somethig isn't it? I was wth Ralph when he was torturing another student there. It took the poor guy about 20 minutes to get the reel tied in - he got spat past me twice, I was acting as what we colonialists call a "wicket keeper" trying to stop him as he flew by!

    Better to be "Wh...!"

If I did have to go while in a cave I'd want it to be under a 300 ton, house sized piece of breakdown that suddenly decided to depart the ceiling. That's about as quick as you'll get.

    Default Big Deal!

Getting your full cave card is a big deal. Congrats! And any instructor who makes getting any overhead cert easy, isn't doing his job. A pat on the back to Ralph for pushing your limits. Good job to both of you.

    That all depends......
If knowing that was me would have caused you to think there's that S.O.B. and come over and punch me square in the nose for some of the things I've said and trouble I've stirred up here on the CDF then NO! That most certainly was NOT me!
If on the other hand you have always found my posts somewhat humorous and interesting and thought to yourself, "I sure would like to meet that Caveranger guy someday and since he seems like a righteous dude I'll buy him a few beers at Kazbors" then its possible that it was me you saw with Ralph on Saturday.
