After my regular dive buddy moved to Texas I was willing to dive with just about anyone the dive shop owner vouched for. We diving with the younger bother of a well known exployer. After a good dive up stream YB indicated we should take a jump off the main line to the left on exit.

I started to deploy and jump reel but YB said it was a thru swim back to the main line. Trusting his knowledge of the sytem he lead in. I noticed that the passage was getting smaller and silty. After a few minute we could not go any further as the passage pinched down. At this point YB indicated to turn around... Um nope can do that no room gotta backup a while. I OK'ed the line because things were getting really bad and backed up until I had enough room to pull my leg under me and kinda make a backflip half twist. Good thing I was young and skinny then. this manuver really trashed the vis but I could see out of the passage and realized I needed to get going because this tunnel had flow going the same way we were. I raced out of the cave and look up to see the main line. I quickly jumped to the main line and pointed my light at the passage entrance. YB exited along with the silt cloud and made the jump back to the main line. What I learned here is Never take a trust me dive into a place you don't know at least by indendent confirmation to go where you guide says it goes.
