Over the last several years I have bought a bunch off eBay (no, you can't have any of them!), and here's what I've found: G-250s, just the second stage, are going for between $75 and $100. G-250s coupled with a Mark 10 go for between $75 and $120. What's wrong here?
It gets better. Last winter I bought a Mark 5/G-250 (in excellent condition) for $55. If I just needed the G-250 I could throw the first stage in the garbage and still be $20 ahead.
A couple of years ago I bought a Mark 20/G-250/R-190 for $150. I built the R-190 and sold it for $75, so I effectively had $75 in a Mark 20/G-250.
An auction just ended for a beat-up Mark 10, but an immaculate early-nineties G-250 and a Sherwood console with a nice compass and boot. The whole shebang went for $76.
Again, why people spend $200 to buy crap for deco regs I'll never figure out.
