Right? left? in? out?
The passage on the opposite side from Young's Siphon (left) that bypasses the 1st breakdown looks like it's called Goodman Siphon. I might alternately try to call it "1st breakdown bypass".
The one on the opposite side (on right going in) that runs from the young Siphon passage to 1st breakdown zone is probably part of the Young's Siphon. I might alternately try to call it "1st breakdown syphon" to distinguish it from the rest of the Young's Siphon passage.
Not official names - just descriptive attempts.![]()
You are talking about the little side tunnel, on the right (as you go in) that's on the map about in the spot of the Young Siphon right? I don't think it really has a name to be honest, it's just a fun little side tunnel.
Everyone spends the first nine months of life in water. The lucky ones make frequent return visits.
Hey all,
Thanks for your help. I probably should have been more descriptive in the location. At the bottom of the shaft, go abou 50 feet or so (just past what I know as Horseshoe on the left). There are some double line arrows(I think the first pair) for a jump to the right(I am guessing this is Young Siphon). About 20 feet into this passage is a jump to the left. It is low, wide, and relatively silt free. The line for this passage ends at the first breakdown maybe 20 feet from the gold line.
Can anyone recommend a map for JB. I have seen some but they were 8 x 11 and did not have this passage on it
Thanks again for your help.

This may disappoint you, but it's the Parallel Tunnel.
There are quite a few passages in JB that you won't find on the map. Even the big map Edd has doesn't have them. It makes it all the more fun to dive that system and "discover" these passages. I've enlarged my 8x11 a bit and have started drawing in some of the passages I've come across for personal reference.Originally Posted by sandy

You might enjoy this writeup of the jumps that can found in the first 500 feet or so of the mainline in JB. I think the tunnel you are talking about is the one I highlighted in green.
