Why is it sad that the gator was turned into stew but people on this forum seem quite delighted to report about blamming away at squirrels on such a frequent basis?????

I mean, God's creatures are God's creatures. I'm no PETA whacko. And sometimes them critters become too big of a pest and something needs to be done. Gators OR squirrels.

    But still.................

I've got a friend taking a class down with Paul right now. She just wrote me back. NO gator at Hudson Grotto. Just turtles.

But gators are marvelous creatures, a living representation of prehistoric times; squirrels on the other hand are little more than vermin, tree rats if you will. Besides, squirrels are much easier to clean and toss in the stew pot

Squirrels are marvelous creatures, too. And living representatives of prehistoric times, as well. They are very close to the first rodents that evolved.

Hey--here's a fun factoid! Squirrels have ears that point to the sides of their heads like humans' do. Mice and rats have ears that point forward.

I would think a squirrel would be WAY too much work for the amount of meat you'd get for hunting them. I 'spose if you're starving or something. But, a deer you'd get a lot. Heck, even a nutria would provide a LOT more meat. Squirrels seem so tiny and just too much work.

You sir, are a snob. You have attempetd to diminish the great contributions made by Jerry Reed.

You barely mention his smash social commentary, "When you're Hot, you're hot" and his deep and insightful "Tupelo Mississippi Flash".
You also seem to have forgot Polk Salad Annie (Gator's got your granny), and his entire stellar acting career. I mean he was "The Snow Man".
And do not forget his astute observation on painful divorces written for men. "She got the gold mine, I got the shaft".

I mean, who are you going to insult next? Jim Stafford? Wierd Al Yankovic? Tom Lehrer? Then who would have inspired this with his music?
