I forgot my pee valve in March on a trip to Ginnie so we stopped at the hardware store in High Springs. The purchase of a nut, bolt, and two washers mixed with some aquaseal made a great temporary fix.

Drove from SC to Ginnie Springs one time only to discover that my BC (with it's unique attachment system to my tanks) was left at home. I had the tanks but nothing would attach to them but the special BC.
Faced with having to rent tanks and BC for the whole week long trip we drove back to SC (6 hours each way) and were back at Ginnie by 10am the next morning.
Forgot a primary light once for a dive at LR - but went anyway. Forgot boooties once and used tennis shoes.
Now everytime I forget something I just buy another one. If I end up with enough extra booties or gloves or whatever then I'll have enough to spread spares widely enough to avoid the problem in the future.
We left Ginnie in a hurry one time--something about skin bends and trying to decide whether to go to Shands or not while trying to get DAN on the phone--and left our fins, masks, and reels on one of the tank benches.
The next day while gearing up realized we didn't have those items, and went to check out "lost and found." Fortunately for us some very kind soul had turned them in the night before--Thanks! You think its just a few things, and then start to add up the $$$ and it would have been close to $800 to replace the stuff.
Forgot my Rock Boots at Peacock one time and ended up wearing my sandals over my dry suit. Got some serious blisters. I will never do that again! I keep thinking that I should put together a check list to go through before I leave the house, but I always forget to do it!

my contacts...Doh... I didn’t realize until I had to take my glasses off to put my head through my neck seal. I’m near sighted so I could read my gauges and see the line. Made for an interesting "low vis" dive.
For some reason my wife and I went to Ginnie on the friday of Memorial Day weekend. Despite the hords we managed to find a spot along the rail down by the run, which I was quite pleased with. As I assembled my gear, I realized that I had left my wing at homeNot wanting to lose my parking spot, I trudged up the trail to the shop, where I stood in the very long line until they told me they had a wing to rent, took my CC info, sent me to the back to pick up the wing, discovered "the" wing (they only have the one) was already rented, back up front to void the CC stuff, trudge back down the trail, borrow a beat up BC from a friend who happened to be diving with some OW people in the ballroom, hooked up the BC to my wife's stuff, since she was diving the ballroom and not the caves, took her wing (her permission granted btw) and went on the dive.
It was still worth it![]()

Once, while diving Peacok in February, I forgot my condom caths. There was no one around to borrow or buy one from and I didn't feel like driving back to the shop. I decided I would just use one of my wife's diapers for the hour plus dive we were doing. I tried my best to hold it, but when we surfaced from the warm water into the cool air the effects of all the caprisuns and coffee I had started my day with were irresistable. I literally could not stop myself. I'm not sure how well those diaper things work for females, but for me, let me just say it was less than effective. Completely ineffective would better sum it up. It was an unhappy learning experience.
I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
After driving three hours for a weekend of diving, I realized that while I had all of my dive gear, I had absolutely nothing else for the weekend (clothes, toothbrush...you get the idea). Guess you know where my priorities lie.![]()

My name is Shirley Kasser Creech and I approve this message. Well, at least one of me does, anyway. Maybe. Fire. Sharp things. Squirrel!
Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
Arrived in NFL without the charger for my light. 3hour flight 1hour drive. Thank god for overnight delivery to Cave Excursions.
After the second day of my cavern class, exhausted, layed my wetsuit out at Ginnie to let it dry. Broke down gear, packed up, and drove back to our trailer in Ft. White. Pulled all gear out of the car to dry, and quickly started rummaging through the car looking for my wetsuit. Panicked, jumped back in car, sped to Ginnie, found Ginnie cavern desolate with the exception of one guy sitting on a bench next to my hood, gloves, and booties. "These must be yours, huh?"
