I'm pretty sure it would be less bad comming at it from the bottom side. Never had the urge to go back and test that theory though after I proved the circuit.Originally Posted by mcmacken

Umm......not interested in being buried alive. Too many years in the funeral business. The Sand Slide can wait for someone braver (?). I saw John head down that hill once to scout it out. I thought about how best to leverage and pull him out by his feet before his return. Didn't need to do it - whew - though I was about to go hunt for him. He took one minute too long. I saw the look on his face on the way out. That was enough for me.
I have spent quite some time trying to find the bottom side. Angie shared your info with me and now I understand why it remained hidden! It should stay that way. Not a place for most people, including me. - JohnOriginally Posted by Gary
You got the map I sent then? I hoped it'd go your way if you were interested. The passage in that direction isn't too small (backmountable even) but I'd rather see the vent from either end then go through the slide again.Originally Posted by mcmacken
There are also 2 cracks on the right side of the main line at 60' that lead down to some other scary sand vents (I think 95's are to wide to fit there but 7.25" or thinner work). The cork screw passage and drop off is only the beginning - water is coming up through cracks on every side of that section of passage making it seem more like a natural land bridge then a solid chunk of rock.
Mind sending the map my way? I'd like to check that area out. Thanks! Aviatrr@aol.comOriginally Posted by Gary

I'm going to take a look at it from the other end. Thanks for the info. It's REALLY good to know that it connects (a dire if I don't take this burrowing exit I will die situation) and I so very appreciate the fact that you did it! However, my curiousity has been satisfied. I would have to bang around quite a bit to test the stability of that sand vent before going as far you did. Especially after the floods.Originally Posted by Gary
