This weekend on saturday is oldtimers day at jb ...the main pavillion will be reserved: Here's the announcement:

    Blue Spring Old Timers Day

Purpose: To assemble those who have known and cherished Blue Spring in order to hear their stories of the “old days” at the spring.

    Where: Blue Springs Recreation Area

    When: Sat, May 5th , 11AM until 2PM

Agenda: 11:00 Arrive to visit with friends and interviews
12:00 Covered dish picnic (fried fish and hush puppies provided)
    1:00 Storytelling
    2:00 Adjourn

What to bring: covered dish (that goes with fish), a lawn chair, old photos of Blue Spring, stories to share or an ear to listen.

Who: Anyone who wants to tell stories or hear them

Blue Spring has been a magnet for the citizens of Jackson County for nearly 200 years. It has been a special place to swim, picnic, relax and play hooky from school. Family reunions, 4th of July celebrations, school outings and church baptisms are all part of the springs story. Come join us as we add to that history.

For some unknown reason, I just happened to attend the last two "Old Timers Days."

I wasn't planning to be there this weekend, but I just might make some plans . . .

That sounds like a great time.

    Wish I could be there.

I love hearing peoples story's of how things use to be.

    Sludge,
If Madonna does speak in a British accent, I guarantee, I won't be listening.

What would be great would be to get some of the original explorers of Jackson Blue. I've heard many of the stories from the original explorers, and it was pretty interesting
