    Default Conditions at Royal

Anyone got a conditions report for Royal? Never been there, thinking of checking it out tomorrow.

    I don't know the conditions.

Its a good OW gear check out site and an interesting (if short) cavern dive. I believe it turns very nasty and side-mounty just over 100' in.

I had essentially just wanted to go there and poke my head around. No interest in penetration there. I'll be heading to Madison on Saturday to piddle around a bit.

I'm sorry. I had to get my 200th post in. It was there so I had to take it

I was told that there are two reasons for going into Royal.

    1) To become a body.

    2) To recover a body.

Are there any maps of royal? Any detailed dive reports? I have always heard about how treacherous it is, and my curiosity is piqued as to what it looks like (not enough to try it myself!)

    Well,

I'll let you experienced guys tell me about the cave. I just want to check out the OW portion. Probably a nice place to take OW friends when they are in town. And cheaper than Ginnie/Blue Grotto/Devils Den.

Troy Springs State Park on Highway 27 between
Mayo and Branford is beautiful place to go for
    OW divers.

Peacock Springs State Park at Orange Grove Sink
is nice for OW divers too.

    Ditto....
The cavern is nice though. But it can silt up in a HURRY in there. Lots of poofie silt on the floor.
