What exactly are you asking for and what was the problem with the line.
Looking for tips on entry at Cow Upstream 2nd restriction with Back mount. What body position was used to enter. Angled or flat on your stomach or tanks down. 3 man dive team could not find the trick to get past 2nd restriction right after the start of the gold line. No problems with gold line. Only saw 10 feet of it as could not make it past second restricition.Originally Posted by DeepSea
If any of the team is large statured and wearing fat doubles, forget about going backmount. Sidemount is really the only easy and safe way to dive Cow.
It may be worthwhile to go with someone who has experience there, and can help you. I have found most people have more difficulty with the restrictions when exiting. A valid point is made if you have anybody in your group that is of large stature, then entrance/exit will be very difficult,if not dangerous.
if you get through the 2nd restriction, coming back out is another story, if you don't line yourself up just right you wont get through, you have to make sure your wings has no air and if you have a drysuit beacuase of the restriction your suit may inflate on you, I have pulled out a few divers being stuck in that restriction over the years, because the slope is a lot different coming out then going in, if you are getting stuck going in you will have more of a problem on the exit, take Kelly's advice go with someone who has been there.
I'm not exactly sure if it is second restriction, i always thought that the second one is the drop off in NotMyFault. What you call a second is just a duck-under. Make it team of 2. Let the larger diver go first. Lay down flat and dig a little (to the inside like a bulldozer) if needed, never exhale 100%. Try one hand behind another in front, or both in front. It should work, well at least you will have a fun behind the first diverOriginally Posted by tflaris
Also there is a backmount bypass of the duck-under, ask Bill Rennaker for guidelines.
you have two major restrictions, The first one in open water, then you drop down a shaft, then to the left is a 2nd restriction about 10 feet in, not my fault is around 700 feet in.
I finnaly got through using 80's instead of 95's. That one inch of additional clearance was enough. The "nomad" is on my christmas list this year though...Ken
Just purchased one and very excited to get the setup as close to perfect as possible and get some pratice on it and have a second run at it.Originally Posted by DogDiver
