Conditions at Blue Springs (Orange City)

Finally got back to diving at Blue Springs. The Manattee's are for the most part are gone. Saw two cows out by the SJ River! Tarpon are in the run, but the water quality is currently poor. At 60 feet, one can't see the other side of the cavern zone. When will the growth in Central Florida start to slow down, we are taking to much water from this aquifer. I have not seen this poor of water coming from the springs in 25 years!

Florida is currently growing at the rate of 1 million people every 2-1/2 years, so don't hold your breath.

Finally got back to diving at Blue Springs.... the water quality is currently poor.

I showed up at Blue Springs (Orange City), with two buddies, the day after it reopened for diving. The dive plan was to try to use two slave strobes to take some pictures at the bottom. The visibility was about 8' that day.

Are here any other reports of springs pumping poor water quality When I saw this a long time ago, other springs had same conditions Is it because of overpumping or the lack of rain this year Everyone should go outside and rain dance.....We need some rain......
