Default Found a 2nd stage in Jackson Blue

I found a 2nd stage regulator in Jackson Blue tonight. It was over 4000 ft back in the cave on a white line. From the buildup on the reg it has been in the cave quite a while. Adjust knob still rotates smoothly.

Provide the serial number and I will make sure it gets back to you.

Love to hear the story of the dive on which it was lost.

Hey Kieth, there was a group down from Michigan the end of January and one of them reported loosing a second stage from one of his stage bottles. It would have been an Apeks second, but he said he was not sure (at the time I spoke to him) if it was a TX50 or 100. He thought he had lost it somwehere in the vicinity of the trash room, but they had been further back. Edd might have the contact info for that group if it sounds like it may be the one they lost. I thought it strange that some one could loose a second without noticing any bubbles (his stage was full of water when they got out), but they were scootering.

Well...Yes....but my new regs don't a S/N on the 2nd stages either. It depends on the brand

Ask DeWayne how I identify my gear

ROFLMAO Yep, those long white hairs discretely attached to the gear is a dead give away as to who owns it 8)

    Thanks,

This sounds like the right group; It was way past the trash room ... Not in a spot I would have taken a stage (or a scooter). I was thinking it was a backgas reg... It would have made quite a mess if it came off while pressurized making for an interesting story.

The guy I spoke to may have been playing it down a bit. They were coming out of the water as I was gearing up and he mentioned loosing the second from his stage bottle. I can't recall where he said he first noticed that it was missing, just that he thought it might be along the mainline somewhere in the vicinity of the trash room and asked if I would look for it on my dive. Karen watched him drain water from his empty stage, so undoubtedly he had the valve at least part way open and should have noticed some bubbling as the second worked loose followed by a freeflowing hose flapping in the current.
