The time has come to part with my trusty Zepp. This is the fastest scooter I have ever used, including farallons, SS's, Gavins, and the smaller Predator. I have done 4000 foot cave dives several times with this scooter.
The scooter has the variable speed adjustment, although it does not slow it down enough. It also has the 12v or 24v selector switch, so it will run at 1/2 speed. Perfect for diving with Makos.
OK, the good. Motor section rebuilt less than 50 dives ago. The 24ah batteries are 1 1/2 years old, 20 or so dives. It has the 180 meter rated nose, no light. Mid handles, not the ones in front. I dont think it has never been in salt water. With these batteries, it will run flat out for about 100 minutes. The weight is about 75 pounds, with 24 ah batteries. It is lighter than a UV-26, about the same s a UV-18.
The bad. The original paint is starting to flake off, doesn't effect the scooter, just flakey. A powder coat job would fix this. It is 25 years old, but as stated, the motor, relays, switches etc were rebuilt. I took one handle off and trimmed the scooter to put the other handle up, so I can run it one handed.
I am selling it because:
1 - Weight - I want a lighter scooter, my right knee is shot. (same reason I am sidemounting) The N series SS is 20 pounds lighter.
2 - Speed - It is getting old having to run, then wait, run then wait, run then wait.
It is kinda fun to cut in front of your buddy and knock his mask loose with your propwash.
PM a email address, and I can send actual pictures.
Price, around $1750.00, (offers) unless you are Caver 95, then it will be $3500 cash only.
It is the scooter around the black one, I think all 3 are the same.
From the Submerge Website:
"How fast is the UV compared to other scooters?
Only some aquazepp scooters are significantly faster than UV scooters."
