Hi all,
Although I have been reading the entries to this forum for some time this is my first post. A little background on my diving. I got certified OW in '74 and starting diving the springs of N Flordia in '76. Picked up my full cave cert in '84 and have logged many hundreds of cave dives mostly in central/north Florida and Mexico. (Yea it sounds like I'm an old guy but I'm not - at least in my mind)
A friend and fellow cave diver made a trip to Cat Island in the Bahamas and discovered a couple of inland water bodies that resembled the cenotes of Mexico. He did not dive them nor did he find any locals that knew of anyone the did. Question and my reason for the post - does anyone know if there is cave diving on Cat Island. If there is does it require a permit, what's the conditions of the systems etc.
My buddy wants me to go with him to check out these "cenotes" but before I spend the $$ I want some assurance I'm not wasting my money.
Thanks,
Tom
