I would rather eat fried cotton myself (more taste and much easier to swallow than mudfish regardless of how you cook it!) A friend's dad caught one once and refused to listen to our recommendations to toss it in the trash. He figured that anything that fought as hard as that booger did deserved a more justified end, so he cooked him up and ate him. We laughed the entire time as we watched his face each time he took a bite. To this day I am not sure who was the toughest SOB that night, the fish or the determined man that caught him and choked down every bite.

    That's a great story Dewayne!
Sounds like some of my relatives.
I've eaten fried Gar and it wasn't too bad but never a Mudfish/Bowfin.
I'd imagine a fish that ornery must taste like Dennis Rodman's jockstrap boiled in turpentine.
Well maybe not that bad but definately not good. Probably taste muddy.

A friend who has lived in Hong Kong tells me that a common saying there is: "Anything that walks, crawls, flies or swims with its back to the sun is good to eat." I'm not sure what category Dennis Rodman's jockstrap falls into.

My guess would be that after uhhhh.........? "being seen with" Madonna, Carmen Electra, and god knows who or what else.....his jockstrap probably falls under the "crawls" catagory.
That's why Michael Jorden kept a DDT fumigator and a baseball bat in his locker
