    Default Central Florida Disaster

    FYI,

Lots of news coverage, but there were tornadoes that touched down through Central Florida. Mainly (mostly) in Lake and Volusia County. I know a few persons that live in the some of the areas hit (Joe Tegg for one) and I talked to him (he is fine, his property is fine).

I got caught up in traffic this morning, trying to go do a class at Deleon Springs. I never made it there. Just got home. Deland was hard hit and mostly closed off to thru traffic as of a couple hours ago.

There are cave divers in the areas hit. I hope them all the best!

Chip lives south of me... he's fine. The bad areas were north of Orlando.

Thanks for checkin in TJ, and my best to all that haven't. I was watching the weather map closely, and talking to Vero Beach while it approached. 5" of rain up by Gainsville?

Yeah, luckily my wife and I are OK.

The tornado took out a radio/cell tower that was no more then half a mile from my house which was designed to withstand 200mph winds.

Needless to say I am thankful that it was half a mile north of me, but then again, after knowing the desctruction it did to Paisley, it's sad.

I have been living on a generator until late yesterday. My neighbor across the street has a son that was friends with the two teens that died in the trailer that was smashed by a tree.

It is a disaster area there, but one thing was clear. Everyone was helping eachother recover. We may be "rednecks" out here, but when this kind of thing happens, you will find that we all work together to "get the job done".

If you pray, pray for some of the people that had the real loss, the loss of a loved one out here.

Thanks for the thoughts TJ and for calling to check on me.

    Joe

    Hey Joe,

From one South Carolina redneck to a Florida redneck...

If I can help just call.

    Tegg,
I live in Summerfield. If there is anything that you need, be it clothes, car work, place to stay, or help cleaning up, please ask. Cavers stick together...but if anyone you know needs the above, let me know. Travis
