Buford Sunday 1/14/07:Originally Posted by ARY
The area around the tram road to Buford was cleared, so it looks a little different now. The beginning of the tram road has lots of tractor tread cuts, thus making the effort of carrying your gear on a dolly a little more difficult (very bumpy). The water level of the swamp wasn’t that high (about 1 foot in places). I only sank up to my knee twice. Plan your steps carefully to avoid sinking in the mud. Thanks to the person who installed the reflectors!
The visibility wasn’t crystal clear, but it was about 80’. You couldn’t see from one side of the cavern to the other. Overall, we had a nice dive and we took some pictures. This trip produced the worst visibility that I have seen in Buford, and we were careful when we entered, but you can’t really complain with 80’ of visibility. My dive buddy told me he won’t go back, because the effort to get gear to Buford is past his threshold (too much work for him). The extra work won’t stop me!

We are going out there Sunday and I will post a report for it Sunday night. We are also going to drop down into Little Gator Siphon (The siphon at the end of Buford's run) and will leave a report for that as well.
Yes, I posted a couple more in the photo gallery. He took a nice above and under picture of the bird house.Originally Posted by tomhauburn
