    Default Manatee Springs

Anybody been to Manatee lately? Doubles or Sidemount. Sility or not? High Flow or Low Flow? Any information is appreciated.

    Thanks

Manatee is typically high flow, but due to the drought the flow is significantly diminished. Manatee has large passages so backmount will work fine, and due to the high flow silt is minimal. There are small sidemountish passages, but i don't think you'll have to worry about that.

Oh Kelly...master of the understatement. Comparatively speaking to many other of the local springs, Manatee has HUGE passages. Plenty to keep a backmounter busy. 8)

Lower flow? Is the viz is then improved?

I dove there a couple weeks ago,and I comfortably swam down the middle of the passage, and never dropped my stage because the flow was so minimal-viz 80 +/- It would be a good swim on a bum knee

There is also a conditions report form the 6th. Viz was 60' and flow down from normal. Although normal now seems to be down overall.

Good news! The knee was not very painful the next day -- just stronger. It still gets painful and fatiqued after a lot of work, but it's looking more like it just needs some strengthening.

I guess I quit climbing in/out of that sinkhole just soon enough. 8)
