Default Because of the dreaded . . .

Sea Cows, Manatees, blubber boats, weird Federal laws that allow people to dive with them at Crystal River but not at Blue Springs. That's why!

Yes of course. Before they closed it you were supposed to avoid them at all cost. But they are curious and will come to you even if you try to stay away. Someone told me they were scared of Scuba....not a chance. If you held still they would come right up to you face to face. They even followed folks into the cavern. I understand not harrasing them but they are neat to watch.

Because they are getting ready to suck all of the water out to help build more homes in Orange City, Deltona and DeLand so the local governments can collect more ad valorem taxes. Approved by these wonderful cities and the Saint Johns River Management, after all, what is more important, the Manatees and the only 1st magnitude spring in Volusia County, or people and growth (I'm being a smart alek).

I am very disgusted with the whole thing, and I am very unhappy with these entities, but hey maybe there will be some dry caving in the near future.

    Thanks all for the information...
    (Appreciate it)...
I will let everyone around the Luraville area (etc) know Blue Springs is closed for diving until the spring.
I know some people that were thinking of going there on Monday so I will let them know to find somewhere else to go.

    Thanks!

I don't know if it would help, but a letter writing campaign to the governor my bring attention to the no water activities, especially diving. Get it to the state level instead of the local level.
