    Default pst tank failed hydro

I took my twin 104's to a hydro facility in Pensacola for their first hydro. One tank failed with no explanation from the hydro facility. I questioned Press Steel and they told me the hydro guy more than likely screwed up. When I called the tester he had never heard of the pre-test and told me that was a myth. Needless to say I am the one who got it in the end....owww.

We have sold lots of the PST tanks and the first batch that we took to hydro we got burned. Several of the little 80s failed because, even after I gave them PSTs hydro procedure, they would not do the procedure because it wasn't "standard practice." I had to eat two tanks. The bottom line is this - if the PST tanks are not prestretched - they will likely fail. Hydro stations that perform a lot of hydros on steel tanks are normally familiar with the procedure, but make sure. The hydro station owner had a a problem with the procedure, and he had a point, that if the tanks would not pass hydro without the "check for leaks" test, then something is wrong with the tanks. He did however agree to their procedure, and we have not had any fail since.
