    Default PSSP conditions update

The water levels are still dropping, no steps left under water at Orange Grove or P1, the steps that have been added on to the original structures are still under H2O of course. When the duck weed is moved at Orange Grove you can see to the bottom of the sink now and P1 has cleared out-not sure why-the otters have eaten all the big fish and have relocated and there is no flow between P1 and P2 now so the flow has picked up a little in the cavern area helping clear the water, oh yea we've been dropping into the 40's some nights and that helps kill the algea. Madison Blue is crystal clear, Little River the flow is down with good viz and Telford is said to be great right now also. Of course Ginnie is Ginnie-always good.
    Happy Diving,

Is the gator still at P1 or has the chilly nights moved him away?

The gator is still in P1, only she is on the steps side now because that is where the afternoon sun is. With everyone in the water she just lies there tanning-eats a fish now and then.

    Sigh...........
I remember when she as just a wee gator maybe a little over 2 feet long.
It's nice to see the old girl gettin all growed up. After she gets to be about the same size as the mama gator at Bonnet, a Gator Billy will be standard equipment to dive Peacock.
    Thanks for the update.

Thanks for the update, hope all is well.

    I dove P1 yesterday (Saturday 15th)
The basin has cleared out VERY NICELY !!!
And the viz down the peanut line was awesome.

Darn catfish are still silting it up though ...

I still say that gator would make some nice shoes and luggage.

The gator is always there, just hiding sometimes.
They are around all year, just hibernate to a degree if it gets real cold,
but we'll try to find her in Dec. so Slim can see her. TJ has taken some pictures of her, maybe he'll post one for us. This has been the most photographed reptile at PSSP since I've been there. I'm hoping she moves out to the river soon so she never has to go into someones shoes or luggage.
There are a lot of fish being seen inside the system, Jean and her dive buddies have photos of an American eel 1250' back on the Pothole Line.
We also have cave shrimp in the system now-I may have to dive to see one myself-I get a lot of reports of shrimp sightings. Happy Diving!
