    Default Telford

    Has anyone dived Telford lately?
    What do conditions look like?
I assume conditions would be nice since the river is so low.

I was at the site two days ago but did not dive. The run looked absolutely gorgeous. Moderate out flow. Easy walk from the river up the run. SRWMD has it posted was their usual B%&-+ S%$#@ about no scuba diving. I really wish the NSSCDS would get off their lazy behinds and pursue changes. They know how to do it. In the meantime, gotta go up the lazy river. Dive! Dive! Dive!

The parking area is now a larger area near the run but to dive is still a swim up the river

so you can drive up to the run and actually see it... but to dive you have to swim up the river

Pretty much yes. The parking lot is about a block walk but again, you can only dive it from the river. Government illogic

the EE page actually doesn't say either way how one should access the cave... I guess there are signs that say something like "cave can not be accessed from the spring run, must swim in from the river" :P

With the land being SRWMD property and have no diving posted, entering this way doesn't guarantee you won't have an encounter with law enforcement. Yes, you can plead that you stayed in the river run,but in their eye it will be trespassing. You will either be asked to vacate, or cited, and take it up with a judge. The previous arrangement is something I negotiated with the previous owner, but SRWMD is different, have been stung by a lawsuit over recreation, and you might find enforcement of their posted rules.

A customer at Cave Country Dive Shop told me Sunday that the vis is only about 20' inside the cave.

No naked pictures, just dive stuff. Click Here
