Personally I would leave the county alone, and do something without needing assistance from them. A few hundred dollars is nothing in the world of $10k rebreathers and $5k scooter, and everyone can chip in the money. If the county knows that cave divers came forward and purchased it, saving them the money, small things like that mean a lot to leverage for bigger things when needed.

So Kate heard back from the county. They do plan to get another one. They actually got the one for the staff to use but let us divers use it. When they get a new one they will let us use it again. But as Kelly says maybe we should get our own. Keep it on a lock like Jug Hole. Just for us divers.

Happy to contribute to this. And I agree, we should get our own and give access to the county employees.
Consider looking for these carts on FB Marketplace. They tend to be super cheap used
id be happy to donate also
I was at Tractor Supply and looked at the wheel barrels. The one we want is $285.00 plus tax. Plus a chain and lock. . .

Solid tires as opposed to pneumatic tires would be a good choice for a cart which is left onsite.
