Unfortunately, not a rumor. Michaelangelo passed away on Friday, December 13. Zelda told me it was from an anuerysm - totally unexpected. As you might imagine, it has been tough on the family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

In MA's memory, there will be a bonfire at his house on Monday, December 16 beginning at 5PM and probably lasting a while. All are invited, and I am sure MA's family would enjoy hearing about your experiences with him. If you can make it, bring a chair and an appetizer or a little food to share. The address is 4170 NE 43rd Ave, High Springs, Fl. After turning off State Road 47, you will take a left onto 43rd. This road deadends into their driveway.

Big loss to the cave diving community and as a friend. He will be missed. Condolences to his wife and family.

We did the whale bone restoration at Ginnie together. Not many of that group are alive today. And MA was the best of all of us.
A million aholes on this planet get to live forever and we lose great people like MA, JH and so many others.

I really hate death. Especially in December.

He did marry his passion for art with cave conservation. The whale bone project was one, and he also repaired the vandalism at Cow springs in the claybank with using modelers clay. To this day nobody can identify where the damage was due to his artistic precision.

MA was a great friend and dive buddy! I am fortunate to own a couple of his cave drawings.

MA will be missed. He was the person who really helped me as I got started in cave diving. Since I can not make the fire I thought I’d share my MA story. I remember it well we did a dive at Madison and after we had just finished deco we came out to a van full of people visiting from India. Then about 10 of them asked to get pictures with MA. After that he determined he was now the water Buddha. Every year he would tell the story to me and I would have to remind him yes I remember I was the one diving with you. You will be missed MA.
