Well,I got my light back from Dive Rite,$139.00,and they upgraded it to a sunspot.I didnt want them to do that but Jordan assured me Id like it so Ill try it this weekend in my class.Id heard the sunspot was too tight.
I went with the sunspot upgrade and I love it.
I hope I do too.I wish they would have given me my old parts.I think the reflectors different.
The sunspot looks like a H10/Light Canon bulb with a high polished reflector that is separate. The thing I want to do is source the reflector at this point for a DIY project.
My experience with Dive Rite is that they have a very good turn around time for bulb replacement - 3-5 days round trip from my post office. Call to get the RMA# before sending the light off. My last repair was about $90. I got a gratuitous cord upgrade at the same time - no more orange cord 8). I haven't had trouble with the light since.Originally Posted by stairman
I can see that having a spare bulb with manual might make for a saved dive, but I've always managed to find a loaner or rental light (~$10 for whole weekend) to use instead during my trips. You'll have to evaluate the situation yourself knowing the places that you'll be diving.

If I read this thread correctly, your MR11 bulb was broken. Two things, one-yes the reflectors are different; two-the reflector of an MR11 is part of the bulb. If the bulb is dead the refelctor goes with it; there are no parts to return.Originally Posted by stairman
You should like it; Bill Main says--- "it is the only light a cave-diver will ever need."
