    Default I love it!

I love the movie! Bought the DVD and watch it about every week! Ok, so it's corny and hokey and full of holes (no pun intended), but come on it's sci fi, bad sci fi, and the toys are sooooo cool! geesh, we even get a guy who's metamorphing into a cave-adapted species. just not much better than that!

Yeah, I've found that the shot "Rocket fuel" really gets me pumping, especially for those really deep dives.

There are many ways of watching a B-movie, I try and enjoy the good parts of it, namely the underwater scenes.
Who cares if the scooter explodes (the NiMH batteries were overdischarged and the body was full of hydrogen...) or the HIDs last forever (the whole thing lastes two hours, most HIDs last two or three times that!) or the previous explores became white angelic cave bats...
I think Skiles did a great job with all the underwater scenes and them alone made the film worth watching.

[quote="skip"]So if the stat is not 1:14, what is it? I've heard all kinds of analogies, and don't believe any of them.

more people die bowling than cave diving....
more people get struck by lightening while playing golf, than die while cave diving....
your chance of dying is 10 times more likely in plane than cave diving...

    etc.

so what's the real ratio? anyone know?

Hey Skip more people bowl, golf and ride in planes than those that go cavediving , just imagine if hundreds of thousands were cave diving. The Reaper would need backup.
