There were two on marketplace locally 5 weeks ago for $100 each. About 9-10 months ago a local ow guy sold his two al80s for $75 each with din valves. He was getting out of the sport and the tanks were purple. They can still be had, you just have to look. On forums and in cave country I agree theyre going closer to $150

At the age of 70, I've been using Faber LP51s in sidemount for a few years now, and I love them. They're easy to lug from the parking lot to the water and back; and up and down stairs out of and into the water. They contain enough gas for me to solo swim the Serpentine-Merry Go Round circuit (still observing the Rule of Thirds). They are more hydrodynamic, allowing for a better profile in the water column. Yes, my dives are necessarily shorter, but no less fun than the longer ones. (Also, shorter dives mean I can get by with a thick shorty wetsuit -- easy to don and doff). Examples of great dives to do in small tanks are the aforementioned Serpentine-Merry Go Round circuit, the enchainment of the Lips and Keyhole Bypasses, the Catacombs, and the Diamond Sands restriction in Jug Hole, among others -- all gorgeous pieces of cave passage. They are also parking lot conversation pieces. Bonus: you're out of the water and into the beer cooler sooner!

I do the same with my 46?s. Same dives too

Excellent! See you out there someday! I started my cave diving career in 2001 in double Pressed Steel 104s! Heavy, heavy, heavy!
OK, you guys win... I traded a stage reg set for an AL80, so now I have two AL cylinders and two stage regs.... Heading to Marianna for a couple of days to work with Dene (one day) and get some dives in... then will have a couple of months to practice before Cave2.
