Antique Cave Diver
For all those cave divers that never met this guy, his name is Forrest Michael Wilson. He gets the honor of inventing the Cave Arrow. I took this picture yesterday in Atlanta where he resides. He is quite proud that his little invention has saved many a life.

Great picture! Tracy and I dove with Forrest quite a few times over about 10 years - a great diver, an amazing storyteller, and a fount of cave diving history.

You could have taken that picture 20 years ago and it would have looked the same. Forrest (with two r's) is eternal. I'm proud to have his signature on a dive or two in my logbook.

Anyone who has ever dove with Forrest knew that he invented the line arrow out
of necessity.
Glad to see Forrest in good spirits. He is missed
he's a character for sure....but even with the incredible amount of experience and all the things he had seen, he never hesitated to take a newbie under his wing and do an intro dive. He did that several times with me - and a few buddies.
Sure has stories, this is true. But isn't that why we dive (or in my case, used to)?
