Default Storm on the way to Florida

Let me beat Bill at posting something of Doom and Gloom. Storm Ernesto is progressing towards Florida. It could develop into a hurricane this week. It will certainly bring rain to a dryer than usual Florida this year.

So I don't sound selfish or insensitive, I'll first make the required good-luck-be-safe comment:

Good luck to all you Floridians, hope you all ride it out okay.

Now hopefully you will all be so distracted with my well-wishes that you won't notice as I slip in the real reason for my post:

I'll be in Marianna diving Twin and Hole on Sat and Sun and then in the Lauraville area the rest of the week. Will a lot of the sites likely be flooded out?

Bring it... It's been over a year since my last GOOD hurricane party... we're due...!!

BTW, this is gonna be a "named" tropical storm... it will just wetten up the St Johns, which is desperately needed...

    Default Big Ifs

If the track goes to the East like it should. If the Storm does not strengthen beyond Cat 1. If it does not hook around to the west like the GFDL thinks it might. There should be nothing more than a good rain storm in Cave country there might be some deadfall to deal with so be careful driving the back roads. There does not appear to be any involvement of the Okefenokee Swamp so the river should only see local runoff. All and All it should be good for places like Peacock that really need a couple a inches of water.

That is a hard question to answer. FL had been dry a long time, and the water levels are low in cave country. It wouldn't take a lot of rain in S. GA to bring up the rivers to back into some low lying springs. My gut feeling, Marainna will be fine this weekend, but next week may be dicey, *IF* the path goes any further west. It would still take several days for the rivers to go up. Besides the latest forcast is a good bit less than what is posted now.

    Chuck Berry, My Ding-A-Ling:

we got to do our alma mater,
we must do our alma mater

when i was a little biddy boy
my grandmother bought me a cute little toy
silver bells hanging on a string
she told me it was my dingalingaling

    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    (beautiful, beautiful)

and then mama took me to grammer school
but i stopped off in the vestibule
    everytime that bell would ring
catch me playing with my dinalingaling!

    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
(speaks a bit to the audience)

once i was climbing the garden wall
i slipped and had a terrible fall
i fell so hard i heard bells ring
    but held onto my dingalingaling!

    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling

once i was swimming across turtle creek
man them snappers all around my feet
sure was hard swimming across that thing
with both hands holding my dingalingaling!

    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling

this here song, it ain't so sad
the cutest little song you ever had
those of you who will not sing
you must be playin with your own dingaling!

    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling
    My dingaling, My dingaling,
I want you to play with my dingaling

na na na oh your dingaling, your dingaling
we saw you playing with your dingaling
    my dingaling everybody sing
i want to play with my dingaling
everybody my, oh my, (slow it down)
i wana play with my dingaling!
