North Florida Springs are in great shape

Ginnie has calmed down a bit after memorial day during the week. still don't go anywhere near it on weekends.


did two dives there this week, and only saw one other diver in the cave in total. sorry if that was anyone here that we passed exiting the keyhole on weds; usually wave, but was a bit preoccupied with an ornery stage.



no dawdling while kitting up 'dry' in the soupy heat that is FL summer. might be time to shift to diving before work hours.


river's been steady, flow is nominal, vis is excellent.

Yes, we dove Ginnie's ballroom last Saturday to shoot some photos and the parking lot area was full. I don't think I've ever seen so many people there.
After walking through the parking area to the steps at the spring to enter the water, we had to wait a handful of minutes as two of the biggest floats I've ever seen, (like the size of a boat), had log-jammed at the stairs. As usual though, submerging into the cool water and swimming into the cavern made everything better!
