My son Gene and I dove a beautiful Orange Grove cavern and basin Friday, and we were the only scuba divers there.
Gene shot the photo of a duckweed free OG.
It was my first dive back with my doubles since Jan. 2021, but it felt wonderfully comfortable to finally be back in the water with them.
Gene and I dropped down to the lower OG Cavern briefly then I ran a reel to the cave line for practice, since it's been so long. (Although I was finally cleared to dive again a few months ago, I'm going to stick to OW and cavern and not too deep for the time-being. This is due to my on-going low heart ejection fraction issue. Virus caused....)
Gene and I then swam around an extended basin side area, due to the higher water levels. I ended our dive by doing valve drills. This 45-minute dive made my day and I'm so thankful to be able to do it. Look forward to more...!

PS It was even easier just walking into and out of the water with the higher water level on the steps.
Nice picture. Glad you are back in the water. Good choice taking it easy. Still fun.

roadkill
Went to dive madison today and saw the nfsa post it browned out again. So went to peacock and headed to cisteen. 30-40 feet the whole way with a particulate haze in some areas.
On way out noticed someone decided to attach a dildo to the grim reaper sign so it looked like the reaper was having dirty thoughts. We both swear it wasnt there on the way in.

I saw it there today too. We left it there. I hope it reconnects with its owner

I don?t think it was there Friday, but it was there Saturday.
I don?t understand the humor and wonder how / why a cave diver would think this appropriate or waste their time doing this.
But I?m probably old and crotchety.
I know Reggie wouldn?t approve.

We must have not even noticed kn the way in then.
It doesnt annoy me and it made me chuckle. But how bored do you have to be to procure a big purple dildo and then sneeak it into the cave to stick it there.
