Just a reminder to fill out new waivers for the 2022 year. I know it seems like we just did this but it is a new year. I am told the access code will stay the same.

If anyone plans to dive cow and has some extra thick gold line, a repair is needed at the very start of the line. The second I touched it to put my reel on it snapped. I had a look at it and someone had it poorly rigged up to the rock with a thin piece of cave line. I spent a long time trying to undo the knot in the gold line to fix it properly but could not get it undone so I retied the cave line and wrapped it a few times because it is cutting into the rock. There is also a line trap at the bottom where it levels off entering the cave.

Best thing to do would be to contact the Cow property manager, Al Clements. He's pretty bad at social media and is opposed to using the CDF, so look for his contact info on the nsscds.org website and contact him directly. Hopefully he'll make something happen. In the meantime, I'm sure somebody will provide a nice fix, but the long-term solution will need to happen through the new Cow corporation with whatever policies they have in place for managing the line.
That line has been in place for years, hope that it breaking doesn't mean that someone had a bad day!
I'd be happy to repost on the new FB Cow Springs access group with permission if you'd like me too, but I'm hopeful that someone will get the message to the right people faster.
I’m diving Cow today and will make a repair with #72 white line. Extreme Exposure has generously offered some gold line for the formal repair, I will pick up this week and make that repair next weekend unless someone can do so before then.

LINE IS ALL GOOD-
The start of gold like (right below you as you come through the entrance squeeze) was broken and had been repaired with thin cave line. I actually think it’s been like this for some time. I added 8” of thick white line to make the tie-off better, so the first 8” of the main line is white and the rest is gold. In my opinion this is more than sufficient and doesn’t require any additional attention, but I’ll defer to LLC on their call.
I made sure the rest of the line was in good shape, and after swimming to the Cows I checked the entirety of the Warm Plane Lead and the various leads off of thatAnywho- all is well in Cow.

Just for future reference. The tow rope is looking a bit frayed in places.
