I believe only upstream was off limits to cavern / Intro divers.
Downstream only allows training to CDS instructors.
Certain levels of training were allowed upstream by CDS instructors, ie sidemount.

But I have no idea what the actual rules or regulations are currently.

Its scary that the cds hasnt sent out a clear and concise email to the cds instructors explaining the changes. Mass emails are very easy to achieve nowadays.

So your saying upstream was always closed to non-full divers?? Though my standards wouldn't allow me to dive "down stream" because that would be a syphon. Unless the use of upstream/downstream is different than how I would imagine their use in say surface descriptions of upstream/downstream.

If the post in Facebook was any indication , NO training up or down stream... must be full cave to close out the waiver process.

At one time, full cave plus 100 cave dives was required to dive upstream Cow. I don't know why this was dropped; my guess is that it was unenforceable.

Twaldo the downstream section has a left and right tunnels. Both are only approximately 400?

Moderator's note:This thread took a serious turn away from the discussion on Cow Springs. Where there seems to be CDS/DO issues that people what to discuss, there is a new thread in the fill station. Please keep this thread for a Q&A on Cow.

It continues to appear that there is still a lot of confusion regarding access to Cow Springs. IT'S SIMPLE.

    1: Go to https://cowspringscave.com/

    2: Follow the procedure

    3: Receive code

    4: Dive your asses off

    Yippee
    .
    Problems solved
