Default Conditions for Telford, Little River and Cow

I'm driving to South Florida this weekend and was thinking of stopping off for a dive or 2 on the way down. Does anyone know if conditions have improved in any of the systems in the Luraville/Branford area? Thanks.

Yesterday I went for a drive just to take a look. The park is closed at Little River. At Peacock there are signs stating closed to swimming. The water level is 3 steps above the bottom, you can see the bottom of the steps through the tannic water, but much more.

Thanks for the information. That's what I suspected.

Looking at the NOAA river level online Buford Spring down in Chassahowitzka looks good. Anyone dive there lately?

Open and good doesn't go in the same sentence in this case. More likely a hair better than blown.

Yeah I heard peacocks open and ugly but cow isnt awful. My wifes been driving around for work looking at all of the springs on and around the suwanee. Some still are crystal blue and some are browned out to the point of almost being black. Based in what shes seen I?m actually surprised peacock is open to diving.

Dove Cow yesterday and today and had it to ourselves. Water in the basin is up 4 to 5 feet, and the surface looks disgusting. I could not touch the deck with my fins. Viz in the basin yesterday was crap for the first 10 to 12 feet. Today it was crap for 2 or 3 feet. Below that, viz was 40 to 50+; I could see as far as I needed. On both days I could not feel the flow upstream while going in. After turning, I could feel it slightly (kind of like Peacock). We also dove downstream yesterday, and I did not notice any flow - in or out. FWIW, we tied our reel to one of the stair posts. Overall, we had two nice dives. If you make it, enjoy!

    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson
