    Default Harry?s crack - Ginnie

Hi all, I?m planning on going down Harry?s crack next time I?m at Ginnie. Aside from doing it when it?s less crowded so it won?t ruin vis for others, any suggestions from people who did it? I?ve heard that the typical way of doing it is from Expressway to gold line but for some reason I can only see it doing it the other way, from gold line to Expressway, get done with the tight part first and dive against the flow into clear water. Is there anything I?m not seeing or considering?
    Thanks in advance!

If you doit gently there no silt. I suugest start from Expressway by the time you get to crux you will have an idea if you can make it clean. Also if you have not done Mud Tunnel and Wormholes you may try them first and have an idea how exciting it can get.

Please do Harry?s Crack at 10 at night. That way you won?t piss off the other cave divers when you blow out the system.

So Expressway to gold line. I did the Mud Tunnels and Wormhole, didn?t think they were particularly tight or challenging, Wormhole has a tight area close to the upstream exit but easily doable in side mount.

Planning on doing it some weekday, usually less traffic. I don?t have a set date to do it, so if it?s crowded I can do something else.

How likely is it to go down the wrong/smaller passage? I guess that could be an issue if starting from gold line to Expressway.

If you go from mainline, at the hill 400 jump, as u drop lower towards the crack, there is a parallel passage 5 feet ahead in the cave. It is smaller (i guess) and does connect at the end if you look right...but it is not the right crack

Thanks, Patrick! So the crack closer to the hill 400 jump is not the right one?

There is a thin dirty line in there just follow it. Not much tighter than Wormhole but the Main Line side has a low silty restriction and line does not go allway to Main Line. If you go slow and gentle there will not be much of a silt. If you have smaller low pressure tanks like 50-s that rebreather folks use it makes it much easier, with travel LA80 left somewhere before the loop.

Thanks Ary, Wormhole line upstream also ends (or starts) a good 50-60 ft from Hill 400 line. How far from gold line is this one? Is it a straight shot to gold coming from Expressway? How long of a restriction?

Line ends are in visual range from both ends but you kinda look carefully as they are tinted(?) being old. More obvious end it off Expressway. The restriction is about 10-12 ft where you may need to slow down.
